Awards

Grand Prize | International Competition | FIDOCS, Santiago de Chile | November 2025

“We are honored to award the FIDOCS International Grand Prize to a film that summons a ghost story—one that is not metaphor, but lived and ongoing. Drawing on a Rouchian device, it invites participants to narrate the images before them, allowing collective history to surface through memory. In doing so, the film reveals how remembrance becomes an act of endurance amid displacement and erasure.

By confronting and unsettling an archive, the film creates a space in which a stolen past may be reclaimed, revoiced, and repossessed. Its fractured words, haunted soundscape and decomposing images do not simply evoke violence; they show how colonialism shatters language, ruptures memory, and threatens to extinguish past, present, and future all at once.”

Grand Prize | National Feature-Length Competition | RIDM, Montreal | November 2025
GRAND PRIX DE LA COMPÉTITION NATIONALE LONGS MÉTRAGES

Best Feature Film
|  Archivio Aperto, Bologna, Italy  |  Young Jury  |  September 2025

Best Feature Film Award
| Family Film Project, Porto, Portugal | October 2025

Words from the jury:
“The film creates a temporal tunnel that unites past and present, rescuing historical memories and images that have never really been lost – they have just changed their location. It directs the gaze of the viewer from the colonised to the coloniser. Here, the alien is you.”
